Goodness, gracious. So, I haven’t performed maintenance on this blog for quite some time. It turns out that one of my posts accidentally had the comments left open. Some little punk spammer flooded it with porn, viagra, and other random comments. So much so that my browser crashed while trying to open the page. At last count there were over 30,000 of them.
Well, it ultimately corrupted the database backing my blog. It brought the whole thing down. So, I’ve scrapped the Berkley DB backing and set up MySQL. At least it gave me a chance to upgrade to the newest software. But now I’ve got to reinstate all the old content (particularly the professional information that I use to automatically generate the vita).
